When I reply to a post on craigslist I now include a link to my Crewplay profile. The responses I am getting are more technical in nature requiring engineered solutions to specific problems. The pay is generally 2 to 3 times what I was getting before adding the link. In general, I've been able to negotiate a higher rate than posted in the ad. Being listed on a site with others having so much industry specific experience puts me in a good light, and my engineering background sells me for the tech problems. Maybe it’s just my perception, but I believe that Crewplay has helped me secure work in a very competitive job market
Inserting the link into the body of the email is easy. Just go to the My Dashboard tab on your Crewplay profile, highlight the link at the bottom of the page. Hit ctrl C to copy, toggle (alt Tab or ctrl Tab) to your email message. With the cursor in the body of the email, hit ctrl V to insert the link.
I use Gmail. By using the “email to a friend” feature on craigslist, I can open it from my inbox and by clicking on the reply to address, the compose window will appear with the address in the send to field. I’ll also put the title of the post in the subject field so the recipient will know the exact job I’m replying to. I hope this is helpful.
