I'm buried in an awesome book right now. The Evolution of Cooperation by Robert Axelrod is one of those books that takes a complex subject like Cooperation and puts it in mathematical terms, a virtual guarantee that nobody will read it...

Anyhow, one of the many theories regarding strategy that I found interesting in the book was this - A strategy called Generous Tit-For-Tat seems to be a good way to begin cooperating with a new partner.

It goes like this...

1. Pick Some Good Partners
Give the landscape a good once-over, a survey, noting who seems to be successful and why. Then pick a few of people to partner with.

2. Get Each Other More Work
Every time you work, try to get your partner hired. Every time they find work, they should try to get you hired.

3. The Payoff
It's so simple that it hardly even seems like a strategy. Since there is virtually no downside risk with a strategy like this, it seems obvious and unimportant, unchallenging and boring... but if you pick good partners you might wind up having a better month of work.

Cooperation doesn't cost a thing and it might give you a little extra $$$. I call this Low Hanging Fruit.

IF you choose good long term partners who work consistently you are more likely to...

- Pick up more days than if you weren't partnered
- Find more high paying jobs to choose from
- Find more medium paying jobs, allowing you to pass on the low paying one's
- Make some new friends and business contacts

Rock on.
